Dental Extraction: Removing Problematic Teeth with Care

Why Dental Extraction?
Dental Extraction may be recommended when a tooth is severely damaged, decayed beyond repair, or causing complications such as crowding or impaction. Extracting problematic teeth can alleviate pain, prevent infection, and create space for orthodontic treatment or prosthetic replacements.

Our Approach:
Our dentists perform dental extractions with precision and attention to detail. We begin with a thorough examination and discussion of your options, ensuring that you understand the reasons for extraction and any potential alternatives. During the procedure, we prioritize your comfort and safety, utilizing gentle techniques and anesthesia to minimize discomfort.

Benefits of Dental Extraction:

  • Relief from pain and discomfort caused by problematic teeth.
  • Prevention of infection and complications.
  • Creation of space for orthodontic treatment or prosthetic replacements
  • Restoration of oral health and aesthetics.

FAQ on
Pain Management

From assessing the condition of your teeth to evaluating the health of your gums. We answer your questions even further upon examination in our clinic.

When do I consider root canal treatment?

Typically when there is pain and swelling involved, however, when patients return for regular checkup and there is a chief complaint of discomfort, various tests will be conducted to deem the eligibility and need to undergo Root Canal Treatment. Tests such as cold test, percussion test and even x-rays play a role in determining whether root canal treatment has a good outcome for this particular condition.

Do I need a crown after root canal treatment?

Crowns are mostly necessary after root canal treatment as these teeth are more brittle after the pulp has been removed. This helps to strengthen the tooth as these teeth are more load-bearing and receive more stress as they are continuously used for mastication and occlusion.

I am on blood thinner, can I still proceed on for dental extraction?

It is best to contact your doctor who has prescribed you blood thinners to check if it is alright for you to have dental extraction done. You may or may not be advised to stop your blood thinners.

How do I consider an extraction or root canal treatment?

When a tooth does not meet the criteria to have root canal treatment performed due to the following reasons: poor access areas, severe mobility, inability to restore tooth back to original function, poor outcome, deep crack/fracture. Extraction will be advised instead.
